Enabling the experimental "MotionSync" technology for more synchronized P/T/Z movement

 Applies to PT12X-XXX-XX-G2 / PT20X-XXX-XX-G2 / PT30X-XXX-XX-G2 model(s)

The P/T/Z MotionSync feature uses a formula relating the current position of the camera and the position of the preset called in an attempt to synchronize the movement of the pan, tilt and zoom so they all complete their movements at the same time.

The steps below will detail how to use the IR Remote included with your camera to make adjustments to enable the experimental "MotionSync" feature via the OSD, On Screen Display, as shown below  but know that these same steps can be performed from the WebUI of the camera.

Note: the Min_Speed, as it was deemed to have no impact on the synchronization, has been removed from more recent firmware versions.

  1.  Now use the "MENU" or "Return" buttons to exit out of the OSD Menu.

Note: This is an experimental feature and may not always operate as you expect...

If planning to use this feature in production we recommend setting up all shots ahead of time to ensure your are able to achieve the desired effect.

Note: If you do NOT see this option available in your OSD Menu you will need to upgrade your firmware to gain this feature. Please find the correct firmware for your camera, along with instructions, by using the PTZOptics Firmware Finder

  8. Set MotionSync to ON
  9. Set the Max_Speed to 185
  10. Now fully exit / close the camera's OSD
  11. Now setup two (2) presets
    • If possible, try to make a minimum of a 90 degrees of pan movement between presets
    • If possible, try to make one preset the full extent of the zoom and the other fully zoomed out
  12. Now call between the presets to see the impact on the camera's movement

Experimenting with these settings can yield a wide variety of options for altering the basic movement of your camera.
