I need help Camera constantly freezing on OBS

I have a simple set up with our PTZ cam for our church. It feeds from camera thru AJA to to the computer. We tried everything; directed power to the USB port, checked all the settings. internet runs great. The problem is the video freezes in the middle of the service. I have our guy ready to deactivate then activate so it can function again. I looking to purchase a second camera but I wont until I figure out this problem. Thank you. Is it Software or Hardware?

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing these issue with your streaming setup.


In an attempt to get to the bottom of this I am hoping to gain a bit more insight into your current setup...


  • What model PTZOptics camera are you using?
  • What model AJA device are you using?
  • How long is the cable connecting the PTZOptics cameras output to the AJA devices input?
  • Are you using an USB extensions or hubs with the AJA?
  • Is the AJA sharing a USB host with any other USB devices?
  • Have the USB Power Save settings been disabled for the utilized USB ports?
  • Does the camera exhibit this freeze if removed from the rest of your setup? (i.e. connected directly to a TV with an HDMI input for viewing?


I hope with most, if not all, of the answers to the questions above we can get to the root of your freezing issue.
