Enabling the experimental "MotionSync" technology for more synchronized P/T/Z movement

 Applies to PT12X-XXX-XX-G2 / PT20X-XXX-XX-G2 / PT30X-XXX-XX-G2 model(s)

The P/T/Z MotionSync feature uses a formula relating the current position of the camera and the position of the preset called in an attempt to synchronize the movement of the pan, tilt and zoom so they all complete their movements at the same time.

The steps below will detail how to use the IR Remote included with your camera to make adjustments to enable the experimental "MotionSync" feature via the OSD, On Screen Display, as shown below  but know that these same steps can be performed from the WebUI of the camera.

Note: the Min_Speed, as it was deemed to have no impact on the synchronization, has been removed from more recent firmware versions.

OSD Navigation Instructions

This section can be reached by pressing the "MENU" button on your IR Remote

Navigating down to the "SETUP" section, using the down direction button on the IR Remote

Example MotionSync Settings to see the impact

If you would like to see how the MotionSync feature can impact the movement of the camera I would recommend using the camera's OSD to adjust settings as follows

  • Open OSD
  • Navigate to the P/T/Z section and select it to see the options
  • Navigate down to Call Preset Speed and set for 1
  • Navigate down to Pre Zoom Speed and set for  1
  • Now return to the main OSD menu
  • Navigate to the SETUP section and select it to see the options
  • Navigate down to MotionSync feature
    • Note depending on the firmware version you may be able to toggle this ON from this menu or with newer firmware it may require you to select MotionSync to see it's options
  • Set MotionSync to ON
  • Set the Max_Speed to 185
  • Now fully exit / close the camera's OSD
  • Now setup two (2) presets
    • If possible, try to make a minimum of a 90 degrees of pan movement between presets
    • If possible, try to make one preset the full extent of the zoom and the other fully zoomed out
  • Now call between the presets to see the impact on the camera's movement

Experimenting with these settings can yield a wide variety of options for altering the basic movement of your camera.

We hope the above instructions on adjusting Preset Recall Speed and enabling the experimental MotionSync feature via the cameras OSD is helpful towards achieving your desired production.
