The availability of SRT protocol is great. However it being listener-only mode greatly reduces it's utility. For our use where the camera is remote, behind a firewall, on a DHCP address, it's useless.
If it had SRT caller mode, it would be far more useful in these scenarios, and we would be benefiting from SRT straight to our production software rather than setting up RTMP ingest proxies.
Completely agree with TIM. Currently SRT is pretty much useless without Caller. When ever you take you camera to a remote location, which is when you would want SRT you are very unlikely to have the ability to open ports to your cameras. Enabling Caller mode will solve this.
In the next few months we will be adding support for both SRT Caller and Listener modes to the cameras with a firmware update.
